Ok, 1 last post before I start studying..heuheuheehe..

Finally, finished watching Secret Garden, Mary Stayed Out All Night, and The Woman who still Wants to Marry. Yes, watched 3 dramas all at once. Did I get confuse and headache? No, I didn't since I'm such a smart and awesome person. =p

First off, Mary Stayed Out All Night... HUGE and I mean H.U.G.E. disappointment!!! WTF! Wasted my precious time and my bandwidth watching this ridiculous drama. I was so ready to hit, bang, and throw my laptop watching this drama. And that guy (forgot his name) walked funny. How long can you drag this thing out anyway?! Really? Did you really need all 16 episodes!?! Hell no, you didn't! Gosh! Had to watch it til the end though as my OCD came out and I didn't feel good if I didn't finish it. Grrr!

Second, The Woman who still Wants to Marry. I actually watched the first 5-6 epis early last year. For some unknown (forgotten) reason, I stopped watching it.
Rewatched it again from the beginning. Wonder why there wasn't that many rave about it since this drama is actually quite good, even if it kinda dragged a little towards the end. But, boy.. what an underestimated drama! All the ladies, esp the late 20s and early 30s, could all relate to it haha.. And for the bonus, there's that cutie Kim Bum.. XD

Hmm.. what would I do if I catch a cute 10-yr younger boyfriend like KimBum...Hmm... ʘ‿ʘ kekekeke (^o^)

Lastly, the uber famous Secret Garden with Hyunbin and Ha Ji Won. Gosh Hyunbin lost a LOT of weight in this drama -- still good looking though. I actually kinda like him this way haha.. If I'd known what it's all about, I might not watch it since the story line is somewhat eh... >.>
However, seeing how all the ppl raved about it and the-uberly-yummy-and-delish-Hyunbin is in it, I gave it a try after the 16th subbed epi was out. **I hate waiting every week for new epi to come out**
Man, was I hooked! Couldn't stop watching it and ended up finished all 16 epis in 2 days and became a zombie-like in the office.
Sadly, after all that goodness, the last 4 epis (esp the last 2) were all...eh...alright.

Hate it when they do this (Why PD?? WHY?!), and sadly most KR dramas are this way. They got us hooked in the early phase and then dropped us all from 100th story building (ouch!) and gave us a draggy, annoying, flat, unmemorable, disappointing, and sometimes horrible second half of the drama and/or ending!! WTH!

Okay, no more dramas for me, for now anyway. Need to get my priorities right.

FOCUS!

Yogurtland

I had noticed this store before but I kept forgetting to check it out whenever I went grocery shopping at H-Mart (new korean mart, it's hugeeee!).
Then, while Priscil was checking out Soompi, she mentioned a review for Yogurtland. So, last weekend we checked it out and tried the yogurt. I think they just opened since there's a grand opening sign outside...

Hmm.. so when I noticed it, it wasn't opened yet??

Yogurtland is a self-serve yogurt place.

You go in line to get any kind of flavored yogurt you want, then go to the toppings section and put on as many toppings as you want, and then pay.

Price is by the ounces. It is 30 cents per ounce.

I had coffee (or cafe latte? whichever), pistachio, and blueberry yogurt. For toppings, I had watermelon (haha I know it's weird, but I thought might as well try it - yogurt with watermelon ;p), blueberry, melon, strawberry, almonds, peanuts.

I like all mine. Blueberry is soury, so if you don't like sour like Priscil, you probably won't like it.

Priscil had strawberry (which I don't like), green tea, and cheesecake yogurt. I don't remember what toppings she had.

They provide fruits and other things for toppings (several kinds of cereal, granola, choco chips, peanuts, walnuts, almonds, etc... don't remember all of them).

The Golden Compass

Just got home from the theatre.

And the verdict is..... I like this movie!

Unlike Beowulf that put me to sleep in the middle of the movie and made my friend left the theatre halfway... ^^

Contrary to the buzz around about this movie being pro-atheism, I really don't see anything about religion or atheism at all.

Or maybe I'm just dense?? huehuheuhe..

Anyway, after the movie ended, I asked my friend where the atheism thing is. (He's an American btw) and he told me that if you think about it, the magistrate kinds of represent the Roman Catholic way and the demon being our soul.. blablabla..

I told him.. well.. who thinks about all of that when watching a movie?? Geezz.. Americans are just so extreme to the core!

So what if the author is an atheist or an agnostic? I thought this is the land of the "free"??

They banned Harry Potter because of almost the same thing like this Golden Compass. It didn't really slow down the movie theatre from taking people's money...

Anyway, it is just a MOVIE.... chill out people!

I read the reviews yesterday and most of them said that the ending sucks. That reminds me that I haven't write anything about the movie itself. But then again, do I really need to write it all for you?? Nah.. you guys can just ask Mr. Google yourself....hehehehe..

Hmm.... I don't think the ending is that bad..
Sure they left it hanging, I think there will be a 2nd Golden Compass.
Why there wouldn't be? There are 3 books after all.

Btw... the 2nd Narnia is going to be out on May next year and a few of similar movies too, such as Inkheart (I think that's the title) is gonna be out on March. And there is another movie I think, don't remember.

But next year is going to be full of these kind of movies (saw them on previews when waiting for the movie to start)... I can't wait for the next Narnia. I hope it's not a disappointment....

George Benson & Al Jarreau

Went to see their concert on June 1st at Dallas Symphony.

It's bloody awesome... huehuhehe much much better than Natalie Cole... (well duh!)

Started with a meddley (is this how you spell it?) and both of them performed.
Then it was Al's stage for about an hour.

George went out, performed a song together, and then it was George's stage.

They closed it up together.

I absolutely loveeee their sax & keyboard player/background singer and their guitar player/background singer.
The sax/keyboard player/singer is a white bald guy (Joe Turner) and the guitar player/singer is a black bald guy (Chris Walker). *What's up with bald men lately??*

Chris was cute (hehe) and he's not that dark.. great voice!
But I like Joe better hehe...
Joe was awesome... Loved his sax playing. He used 3 sax(es?) small, medium, large...hahahha. (seriously!)

And well of course George is awesome on the guitar but then who doesn't know that hehe.

Al... now Al.....! Damn! He can still pull up that high note....
His voice is still very strong even though he's already aged. (65? 68? Eh, too lazy to do research.)

Man, I certainly didn't regret going to their concert. It's probably once in a lifetime experience to see them performing together.


Huhuhuh I missed Chris Botti! He was here May 9. I didn't know.

Kuby's

Went to Kuby's for dinner last week. It's a German restaurant.
They also have a grocery store attached to the restaurant. You have to go inside the grocery store and then go into the restaurant.

A bit confusing at first. We were like where's the entrance?? heuuhehuhe

It's not that big of a restaurant but quite a cozy place. You seated yourself, there's no hostess to seat you down.
They have an old man played the accordion(?), who knows haha..


The foods are really good, well at least what I ordered hahaha... I had the rouladen. It's beef with bacon, pickle, err... I forgot what else are inside haha but it's good...

Priscil had schnitzel (? Is this how you spell it?) And Lorraine had spatzel (?) Man, German words are hard to spell hahaha...

I don't really like that spatzel. A bit bland for my taste.
We also ordered some sausages. Don't ask me what kind, wouldn't know anyhow.

Ajisen, Pissed Me Off!!

Ok, so I went to this new Japanese restaurant in Chinatown.
I noticed this restaurant a couple weeks ago but didn't have a chance to check it out.
And finally, last Sunday I went there to have lunch.

It was around 1PM. We went there from Whiterock Lake to take some pics for my photography class. I wasn't really going to go to Ajisen coz I need to make a detour (it's in the other side of the town - from that lake). But then, I thought, "Let's check it out, I've been meaning to check it out anyway. Why not now?!" Beuh, big MISTAKE!!!!!

And so, Priscil n I went there.

The place is actually quite nice. I like the decor.
There's a sushi bar and you can see the display kitchen where they cook the appetizer. It's covered by the glass tho', so you won't smell anything from that kitchen. but you can see everything.
They also have the back kitchen which we can't see.

The restaurant itself is not that big of a size.

So, we went in and were greeted by the confused hostess.
Why I said confused?? Well, coz she looked overwhelming n didn't really know where the sections were. Simply to put: she didn't know where to put us! ^.^!
What a newbie!!! *hahahahha... bragging a bit... since I used to be a GREAT hostess haha*

We were seated at the last table, near the kitchen. People were going back n forth behind my back. Ugh!
Anyway, since it was crowded, we didn't really have any choices.

We sat there waiting for the waiter/waitress to come.

And we wait....*still chatting happily and checking out the menu*

Still waiting.....*starting looking around*

Still waiting.....*starting to get pissed off... where the hell is the waitress?! It's been more than 5 minutes!!! No water, nobody asked us anything, NOTHING!!*

Finally, she came, looked at me and asked me what I would like to drink. Oh, no greetings btw.
I told her water. And guess what?!?

After she asked me that, she just went away without even LOOKING at Priscil who sat in front of me.
We were like, what the hell?! She didn't even look at you!! Wah deeppp *wah dalem maksudnya hahhaahaa*

The water came. Yes, she brought 2 glasses of water. But...... there is a but hehehe...
But, she brought 1 glass with lemon and the other 1 without. She also didn't ask for our orders.... ckckckkckc....

We waited again for her to come back and take our orders.

Again we waited....*I'm already a bit pissed off by this time.*

And waited......

Finally *warning, I'm gonna be using this word alot in this post ^^*, she came and took our orders.
I ordered katsu don and Priscil had the gyudon.
We also got miso soup n salad.

Again *warning, I'll be using this alot too hahaha*, we waited....

While we waited, there was a waitress came and asked if we had placed our orders. Then we continued waiting.

After like 5-10 minutes, somebody brought our soup n salad.

And again of course we waited oh-so-patiently for our foods to come.

And of course, they just had to had to take their time bringing out the foods.

I was already sooo damn pissed off!! In fact, I'm pissed off again rite now just remembering!
heuhuehuheuhe...

We waited for a good 15-20 minutes before our foods came.
The weirdest thing was, nobody ever came by to take our soup's bowls and salad's plates the whole time we were waiting.
Then, the busgirl came and clean ALL the bowls, plates, chopsticks, forks, spoons, and clean the table.
She even said thank you! We were like, what in the world just happened there?! @____@!
Did she try to kick us out? haha...

After that the food came. Luckily, they came with spoons.

And of course, as you all can guess by now, the foods suck!!!!! Damn it!
I've wasted my precious time and waited for that kind of food?! And it wasn't that cheap either!

We ate for about 10-15 minutes... HUH! We ate faster that they cooked.

The whole time, and I mean the WHOLE TIME we were there, nobody, NOBODY, asked us if everything was ok or do you need anything or you know... all those kind of bullshits that we do to get good tips.... ^^

The only person came that often to our table was the busgirl to refill our water. OH, don't get me wrong... all waitresses were going back n forth alot but they just didn't stop at our table.

I will never ever go back there again.... I'm so pissed off I could hit somebody.

That was the longest time I ever spent (2 hours) in a restaurant..... waiting.....

FYI: Ajisen is located at Chinatown by Arapaho n Greenville.
Next to Canton restaurant across from Caravelle restaurant. You can easily see it from the street (Greenville).

Blood Diamond

Watched Blood Diamond a couple of weeks ago.

You guys gotta watch this movie. It's good!!

Leo spoke with African-English accent.... awesome, even though I can barely understand what he was saying... hahahah... but he spoke just like a native, IMHO.

Damn this movie! After watched it, I don't want to buy diamonds ever again.

Well......................

Not really ever again.... we'll see in about 3 months (?), see if I have already forgotten what the movie about...heuhuehuehuhe...

Oh btw, notice that I didn't say that I would never ACCEPT diamonds ever again, I will still accept them though, just not gonna buy them... *hint hint ;p*

You guys better watch it!!

Am going to sleep now...

Hmmmm.... I didn't write any summary, huh? Eh, you guys should all now know about it somehow anyway. ^____^

Thrill Me!

Watched a musical play last Thursday with Martin, Neneng, and Michael.
It was called "Thrill Me!".

It was really great. I like it alot.
Was performed by 2 guys accompanied by a piano and it was a small theatre.

Neneng n I were planning to go see jazz at Dallas Museum of Art (DMA). They have jazz nite every thurday (6-8ish PM) all year long and also jazz under the stars in summer (8-10ish PM).
They have different bands every week.

We met Martin n Michael first for happy hour after work hehehe...
Then we parted our ways. They went around the mall first coz it started at 8PM.
We went straight to DMA.

When it was about 7:40ish, Martin called and asked if we wanted to go there and watch the play. It cost $20 something. $25 I believe. And it was quite close to DMA, so we could get there on time.

We decided to go there. After the play, we went out to eat and then hung out with Riko and Chris (his friend who visited from Armsterdam) at Phases, a gay bar til 12ish... hehehhee...
Neneng n I went home, but they still continued til 3AM.
I guess we started our weekend early, eh?!

It was a 85 minutes long play NONSTOP! No intermezzo.
Those guys acted and sang nonstop... awesome! They sang really good too. I like the other one though, the Nathan character. He has an awesome voice.

The play was based on a true storty that really happened in 1924 in Chicago.

2 childhood friends, Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold, were inseparable until college when Richard decided to go away.
They finally met again after some time.

Nathan was so dependent on Richard, always following him around and always doing what Richard told him to.
Richard was a selfish psycho bastard, my personal opinion but true nonetheless...hehehhe...

Both of them were from a rich and powerful family. They were geniuses, went to college at the age of 16 and then went to law schools.

Richard was always doing crazy things to thrill himself.
He burned down a warehouse just for the sake of it, stole things from the neighbors' while the neighbors were inside. He said it was better and more exciting with them inside.
He was also obsessed with Nidgi (I think that's how you spell it, not really sure and couldn't found it anywhere in the program).
Always following Nidgi, according to Nidgi blablabla, Nidgi says blablabla...

And of course, he forced and blackmailed Nathan into helping him.
They even made a blood-signed contract so that they couldn't betrayed each other.

Richard was growing crazier and crazier each day.
Finally, he decided to kill someone coz nothing else could thrill him anymore.
Nathan was totally against it but he was binded by the contract. So, he couldn't do anything else other than following what Richard said.

Richard wanted to kill his brother but then after he thought about it with Nathan's help who tried to stir Richard away from killing his brother, he decided to kill an elementary school kid.
The unfortunate victim was Bobby Franks, their neighbor.

They were going to ask for ransom for $10,000 and never give Bobby back. They killed Bobby right away, before asking for any money even.

Everything was settled and went smoothly..... until.... Nathan realized that he had lost his eyeglasses.
From then on, everything was a mess!

They finally got caught and jailed. They were sentenced for life and plus 99 years.
Richard was killed in prison in the shower in year something... I don't remember, I belive it was sometime in 1930ish.
After 33 years in prison, Nathan had a parole hearing and was freed.

He wrote a book Life Plus 99 Years, married Trudi Feldman Garcia de Queveda, a former social worker from Baltimore and widow of a Puerto Rican physician in 1961 and died in 1971.

Oh and did I mention that they were gay and that this was a gay musical play?? 0_o
