Yet Another Farewell

Went to a farewell party last Saturday.
My Japanese friend, Tatsu is going back to Japan for good. He's going to take over his dad's business.

We had the party at Namoo, Korean restaurant. We reserved a private room. There was about 15 people there, mostly of course Japanese, 1 Puerto Rican (she's a Jap gal's roommate and got tagged along with her), 2 Americans (caucasians, in case you're wondering), and me the only Indonesian there coz my friend couldn't make it.
One American was the boyfriend of Taka-chan and the other was somebody's (couldn't remember the name but she's Japanese ^^) husband and Kenzo's boss, Tom.

We actually met not too long ago... a few months ago during bar hopping at lower greenville huehuhehe..

Anyway, we had so many foods, Korean BBQ, different kinds of soups, topoki, some spicy fish, raw oysters, etc. Forgot to bring my camera, I couldn't believe that I actually left my camera at home!!

We each had to give a farewell speech. I didn't know what to say coz I only met him not too long ago and I only saw him occasionally during parties or something.
Anyway, I did my part, the sojus help alot huehuheuhe..

Oh my goodness, these Japs can really drink their way out.
They kept pouring soju and beers. I drank only soju, been curious on how it tastes for quite a while. I had yogurt soju before but I never had the straight soju. Btw yogurt soju tastes great!
Oh, they had lemon soju too, not that good.

I actually felt quite dizzy when I got home, coz they kept pouring soju for me and drank them in shots.... ^.^!

Oh yea, I met Keiji there too, his wife is a hairdresser, but she's in Japan right now and will be back later this month. Awesome! I have been wanting to try out a Jap hairdresser. So, I'll be calling him later heuhuehuhee...
He's an Okinawan guy and whenever Tatsu poured drinks for him, he was like noo and everybody was like, oh don't worry he's Okinawan (btw is this even a word, Okinawan? hehe), he can drink! wakkakakak...

Tatsu was so wasted that night, couldn't even stand up and walk huehuhee.. but still.. they went to karaoke after dinner, of course with Tatsu along.
He's been shouting and talking nonsense and at the end he kept saying "Let's go to karaoke!".

There was a time when he was saying something to the Puerto Rican gal (Lisa) and then suddenly he said that Japan lost at WWII to Lisa!!!
Taka-chan and I were looking at each other and were like, what's he talking about? World war II?!? wakakakkaka... he's so fucked up... Didn't even know what he's saying anymore.

Tom said "you are witnessing the English version of Japanese something" (I didn't hear him that clear since he sat 3 seats away from me) I think what he meant was that we are witnessing the Japanese version of drunkness..hehehe..

Btw, Tom could speak Japanese fluently, and I mean fluently with the slanks and all that. He spent about 6 years there. I am sooooo jealous of him.

When they talk Japanese, and they do it so often, he can understand everything.
Also, when they did the speech, some ppl mixed it with Japanese and I had to keep asking what it means. So annoying.
I only know some words, all the things that I learned in that Jap class was gone like the wind heuhuehuhe...

Before I forget, I just found out that they have this tradition whenever they are ending a party or whatever to show that the party is now finished.
We went to form a circle and then when a person said, err... don't know what he said actually coz it was in Japanese hehe..
When that person said something, everybody clapped their hands once only.
Didn't know that before, they didn't show that in the movies hehe.

Oh well...

Anyway, it's yet another farewell... Another friend goes and another will come.... It's the cycle.

I wish him the best in his new business and lastly.....
YES! I finally have a friend living in Japan whom I can come and visit and be my guide!! hohhohohoho...

WOOHOOO!!

*****Clapped my hands once*****
