Vegas - LA Farewell Trip/Party

Started from a msg from Anes (Stevanes, in case you're wondering if his name is really Anes heuuehe). Anes is a long time friend of mine. I know him since middle school? High school? Don't really remember hehe.. And no, he's not my high school friend. In fact he went to different school from mine and we have never gone to the same school huehuehe..

Anes: Je, wanna go to Vegas? My farewell party. Let me know k..
Je: EH?! farewell?! the hell Nes!
Anes: yep farewell.. heuhueh
Je: When? And when are you leaving?
Anes: May 30th and leaving on June 19th.
Je: The hell Nes!! that's like in 2 weeks!! June 19th?! So soon???
Anes: hauuhauahuah I know.. so? going?
Je: Let me see if I can find cheap ticket. Btw, is this farewell for real? I'll go to your 3rd farewell if I can't find ticket. How about that? hauhuahhaa
Anes: Damn Je, it's for real this time..huahhauha.. (note: last Dec he went home for good but the next month he went back to US again huahuahha)
Je: Damn Nes, it's like $466 to Vegas!!! I think I'll go to LA (he lives in LA) first then go with you guys to Vegas, if it's cheaper to LA than Vegas. If not then... I'll see you when I see you hauhauhahha..
Anes: huehuheuhe.. Ok, let me know how it goes.

And so, I went to LA first, then Vegas, and then back to LA before I went home.

There were 10 of us and it was a lot of fun!!

We stayed at Monte Carlo...(don't stay here if you don't want to walk that far as it's some distance away from all the other hotels but it's still on the strip... I stayed at Ballys before and it was right there in the middle of the strip.)
The hotel was nice but Ballys has bigger rooms, I think.

We got there on Sunday afternoon. We were out of schedule since some people couldn't wake up, and so we were late picking up Heidi at the airport. She was waiting for almost an hour there hueuheuhe *Sorry Hei..*
She was supposed to arrived at the same time as Yanto but his plane got delayed. So we were on time picking Yanto heuhuehuehe...

Then 2 more ppl came late at midnight. Few ppl went and got them at the airport while the others got ready to go clubbing.
The first night we went to Jet at The Mirage. We got there around 2AM (clubs close at 4AM). It was alright. Some of us weren't really in the mood for clubbing..tired and all.
But the guys were excited though since our waitress was cute heuhhuehuhe ^___^

The next day we went around, took some pics, blablabla...
That night we went clubbing at Pure in Caesar Palace.
Let me just say this... we were wasted... and let's leave it at that, shall we? heuhuehheuhuehe

Btw, the new hotel Palazzo, was alright I think. I don't think it's that great. I think of all the new hotels that just opened there, I like Wynn the best.

We were actually going to go leave to LA by 8PM (all 9 of us, Ijo went back home already), but since they all were so engrossed in winning their money back, we left at midnight.... *And they all lost heuheuhhe*

We rented 2 cars, 1 van and 1 sedan. I rode the van along with Anes, Delvia, Heidi, Yanto, and Congwae.
Congwae drove the van and Anes was the navigator. Yanto actually offered to get his GPS in his bag but Anes said no need, besides we had to open the trunk and go through the bag. It's late anyway.

OK, so off we went....

While on the road, I noticed that it wasn't the same environment that we went before. But I think well, maybe it's dark and you can't see anything.

And so, we drove for about 1 1/2 hours on 15 North (it takes 3-4 hours to go to Vegas from LA).
We passed a sign that said Welcome to Nevada and Nevada welcome center. Anes said, "Hey do you guys want to take pics at the welcome center?" huhuehuhee silly dude.
Then Victor called Anes since he was very sleepy and Kurt and Willy were sleeping (Willy had to go to work in the morning too hahahha).
They were talking and I didn't know what they were talking that got into the topic of 15North.
It turned out that we went the WRONG way!!! We should have taken 15 SOUTH!

Huahuhahuahuaha Congwae was so pissed, and everybody was just awed and amazed. Then we all started to blame Anes... hauhahuhauha..

I thought you said you know the way Nes..
I thought you said you don't need the GPS Nes, I offered it to you already.
And you still want to take pic at the welcome center?!
You're a dumbass Ness..
How come you don't know the way??
And you were so sure of yourself!

huahuhahuahuhahua.... and so for 2 weeks, he put "Anes is a dumbass" on his facebook.. huahuahuhaa..

We made a U-turn then stopped at Jack in the Box in Vegas (yes, we went back to Vegas again! haha).
It was around 3AM. And somebody said, "Look, we're in Vegas again.. we're never gonna get out of here.." huahuhuhaha..
We got to LA at 7AM.
Some of us slept til noon...

Victor bought Indonesian foods!! Oh man, they were sooooo good! I think that was the best meal of the trip heuhuehuehueh..

Then we went to Simpang Asia (Indonesian store), where we went crazy and bought a lot of Indonesian stuffs (foods).

Afterwards we went to Rodeo Dr, but it's closed already. We took pics and then went to Promenade. We were going to catch the sunset at the beach, but we were too late. So we took a walk on the street there.

The last day we were going to go to Pronto's and then Mie Yanti before going to the airport.
But we decided not to go since they are all in different way and we were very tired. Some of the guys were trying pot huehuehuhe.. It was so funny.. they can't stop laughing.. They were in la-la land..^___^
My flight was the latest of all. So we split the cars.
Delvia and Heidi went with Victor and the rest went in a separate car.

I don't know where Victor went but we went to Shinsengumi and had ramen. It was great! I think the best ramen that I have ever tasted here in the US.
I even forgot to take pic heuhuehuhee.. (btw, I didn't take that many pics of the trip or of Vegas since I took thousands of pics of Vegas last year)

We stopped by at In-N-Out on our way to the airport. Everybody, and I mean everybody, was saying you've got to try their fries! It's awesome! You have to try In-N-Out!
We couldn't find one on the way and I told Anes, we don't have to get it now, I'm going back to LA anyway (someday, right Fin? hahhaa). But he said, yes I know but I want you to try the fries, which was backed by the others.. "yea you gotta try it."

Finally it was there. We bought the regular fries and naepolitan shakes. And the verdict is..... it's ok... huahuhauhauha..
Gletwin said, "Are you crazy?! It's only OK?! you got the wrong one!! which one did you get? the regular one? No wonder!!! you should have gotten the animal style!!! Anes dumbass!" Ok, chill out Win, it's only fries...hauhauhuhauha...

When I went to work the next day, my brain didn't work, my body was sore all over, I just wanted to sleep... It was hard... heuhuehuhe..

All in all.. it was a very fun trip..

And lastly...

Best of luck to Anes and Kurt!! Hope you'll get whatever you want in life. And I hope you get that job Kurt.
When you're rich, don't forget me!!! huehuhehe..
I heard you guys are in Sg already. Well, have fun and party hard before you join our club, "the working ppl" heuhehuhehe..
See you in Dec Nes... Let's party again in Vegas on new year huahuhauhuha..

Oh Damn!

The other day, my sis was browsing her friendster's network and found 1 of my elementary friend, Catherine. I know! incredible, just out of the blue like that!! heuhuehue..

And so, I was chatting with my other elementary friend, Mawar, that I used to hang out with. There were 5 of us: me, Mawar, Maureen, Natalia, and Cindy.
I told her that I found Cath's friendster and then we started talking about our other friends.
Asked her if she ever saw or met Cindy or Maureen. We know where Nat is heheh..

She said that she met Cindy once at a mall with her husband and 2 kids!!! O-EM-GE!!
She was the tomboyest and I just simply couldn't imagine her being with her 2 kids... LOL..
And she turned gothic... ^__^

When I asked about Maureen, she just put the smile icon, and the next word she typed was... dead.......

Gosh! Maureen is dead!! I heard it before from someone but I didn't believe it. Well, could you?
And now, I just heard the confirmation from Mawie....
Apparently there was an accident when we were in high school. She was hit by a bus or a truck, nobody's sure. DAMN!
How come nobody told us??? I didn't even know that she was back in Jakarta!!

This sure is top everything off... After a long and tiring day, after being in a bad mood all day, followed by being annoyed by the stupid and fuzzy person.... This is like the icing on a bad cake...
Too much to take to end a bad day.. From a bad day turned to an awful day now... >____< style="font-weight: bold;">ever forget, especially now and I'll always regret this to the end.. =(

When I was in high school, I went to Ciputra Mall with my friends and we stopped by at Hero Supermarket before meeting our other friends. I think this was a few weeks before I left the country.
I thought I saw Maureen passed us by, but I wasn't too sure since I haven't seen her for ages... and faces change. You know, from elementary to high school... I'm pretty sure everybody's changed a little, if not a lot.

I was contemplating and kept guessing and thinking, "Is this her?? Is this really Maureen."
And I let her go, I let the moment passed. I didn't even call her name out!!
Dammit! If only I had known -- don't we hate this statement? if only I had known, if only I..., if only!! well it's too late now!!
It was better if I called out the wrong girl. There was 50-50 chance that it might be her... *sigh*

Oh well.. there's nothing I can do now.. It happened a long time ago now. I just regret that I didn't call out on that girl. I'll never know if it was really her and I'll always have that regret with me...

May you rest in peace Mau! I missed you a lot... We had fun back in the days, didn't we?

Guuysss, when I'm back home, we should totally make another reunion to make up the one that I missed!!!!! Nat, we should fit in our schedule, so we could go back home at the same time.. =)

Oh, and high school reunion is coming up huh Wen? still 2011?? heuhuehuhe..

Hmm.. gue masih ada foto sd gue gak yaahhh.... aahhhh..

Lesson of the day... Do not hold back the next time you want to do something or when you want to say something. You'll never know, you might end up regretting it...

Btw, this is my 100th posting!! yay! hehehehehe... I was gonna put a video on but this news changes everything..

Yoga Class Incident

I went to yoga class last night. Have you guys done yoga? Let me tell you, we aren't sitting around relaxing... It's painful!! >_____>

Anyway, we were doing some poses, and this lady next to my left farted!! heuhuheuhe...
Luckily, I was turning the other way and I almost laughed hehehhe... **yes, yes, I know... I'm not trying to be mean, you know....I know I'll be very very embarrassed if it was me...**

Then, towards the end, we were laying down and doing a pose. I had to turn left and face her back. I couldn't stop thinking, "I hope she doesn't fart again coz it'll be on my face..." ^g^

Damn Politics!

At my former office, most of the assistants are women, while the bosses are, of course, men.

All the women, or should I say girls, coz that's what they are... a bunch of catty girls, are so fucked up. They are so two-faced. So nice in front of you and ready to stab you whenever you turn your back.

Basically, in that office, I kept to myself and didn't bother with anyone.
I loved the gossip part hauuahauhua (not that they talked to me if there's any gossip, I was always last to know >___>), but I hated the way they handled stuffs there.

The office manager is the most fucked up one, I'd say.

She works there for about a year (I think) and she has successfully turned the office upside down. She even manages to get the big boss to back her up!
She's really awesome.... really...!

My co-worker hates the OM so bad that he doesn't even want to go whenever she holds a tea-break or whatever and invites everyone to come for a few minutes.

Thank God, I don't have to work there long. 6 months is more than enough.
It's even more fucked up now, I last heard from one of the girls.

Well, I can't really complaint much, since she's always "nice" to me and can't really do anything to me coz my boss backs me up.. heuhuehuheuhe..

Anyway, the girls are grouping each other. And they always talk about each other too!
A will talk about B, B will talk about C, C will talk about A, A will talk about D, etc. And they will try to kick you down whenever you're not looking.

So, this OM cut down everyone's expenses (supplies exp, etc) and cut down vacation times too (this vacation time story is longer than what I want to write, so I'll skip the story, but the point is she pissed everyone off because of this vacation time thing), while she spends the money!
She changed the furnitures in some of the offices, planned useless things for the sake of "us", and some other stuffs. She's probably doing that just to look busy coz I heard (from a trustful source) that she comes in at 9:30, takes 2 hour long lunch, and goes home at 5.
Still.... the big boss thought that he needs to increase her salary coz he thinks that she's done soooo much for the office.
Geeezzz... give me a break!

Before I left the office, she was trying to pick on my co-worker and I. She even managed to make the big boss to inquire us (not directly to us, but to our boss).
Since they couldn't touch me coz I made enough billable hours, they asked bout my co-worker alot and made complaints about him, saying that he spends too much time online and playing games, and that he doesn't bill too much hours. They said that it's unacceptable!. Yeah right! I bet he's not the only one browsing and playing online.

Damn! Apparently smaller office's politic is more fucked up than the big one (my job before this one was at a huge-nationwide corporate). Wonder how can it be?!?

A couple of weeks before I left, I heard that there'll be 4 interns (somewhat related to her, KKN dah dia) for the summer. I've met 1 of them.
Everyone was like, where are they gonna put them? there's no more space. And what are they gonna do? blablablabla..

Oh! Speaking about interns, she hired this handicapped (not physically, mind you) guy for charity or something, I don't know and made M to be his "supervisor" aka babysitter.
Since M has to babysit him, she can't do all of her tasks, and she got blamed for not doing her job.
We were like, what the hell?!

Anyway, on my last day, she was busy running around plotting, eh I meant arranging, stuffs. She's trying to find somebody to replace me. Not that I minded, I was leaving anyway. I just don't like the way she did it. Also, can't she does that after I left?!?
She was running around all day, going back and forth in front of my office and didn't talk to me at all.

That reminds me, after I talked to her to let her know that I'm leaving, JA asked me,
JA: Was she nice to you?
Me: hauhaha.. yes, she was..
JA: Good, she can be nice if she wants to...
Me: hauuahahua....

Anyway, just like what Gino always says..... Fuck this shit man! **Oh man, I miss your craziness and your curses Gino, where have you been... let's hang out sometime. Ask the others too!!**
I don't work there anymore and what do I care... heuhuehue...

Aahhhh!!! When I found out about this, it was too late to book the airline, hotel, concert ticket, find anybody that want to go.

Why can't they hold it on May 30th????
I'm going to LA and Vegas on that weekend.... aaarrgghhhh....!!

It's OK, there'll be next year. I'll keep track on the date.....
Btw, why is it always LA that has cool events???? not faiiiirrrrr! Why can't they do it here too?? We have so many Asians here too... nande??

You can catch the concert on youtube. Just type in Korean Hollywood Bowl and there'll be a bunch of videos. Man, I'm so jealous on them who got the side seats sooooo close to the stage!!

Fly To The Sky is going to have a concert this July in LA and SF though.
Check http://www.onegeneration.com/blog/events/ for details.

Don't know if I can go... we'll see..

Gletwin, mau nampung gue gak July??? huehuehuheue...

Smelly...Smelly...Smelly...

I was contemplating whether I should write this in English or Indonesian, but I decided to write in English anyway.

Last I night I worked out at the gym. I was talking on the phone with Harpin while doing the treadmill. Then this lady (baca: bule) came and used the treadmill machine next to me.

After a few minutes, as I was working out and listening to my cell (I can put songs into my cell), then I noticed a smell (baca: bau apek, bau keringet gitu deh).... I think it came from her coz the lady on my right was just getting on the treadmill. So, it couldn't be her.

Damn! I was thinking to get off and change to another machine, but it's almost half an hour... (tanggung banget!). So, I put up with it and after half an hour, I quickly changed to another machine..... heuhuehuhuehuhe..

On my way home, I talked to Gletwin on the phone and I told him what happened at the gym.
Then he started telling me his story when he worked out.

hauhuahuhaua.. I just keep cracking up whenever I remember his story...so silly and unfortunate..

Ok, here goes...
He went to the gym and found this high school girl working out (baca: orang bawang) by herself and there's nobody else in there.
When he opened the door, it was so stink that he wanted to go back, but then he felt awful for doing that.
So, he went in and started working out. A few minutes passed by and this girl left the gym leaving him with smelly gym huehuehuhe..

After a while another girl came in (orang Persia ato manalah gitu) and said, "God, it smells so bad in here!!" huahuhauhuahuhahauh....
She or I would think that he smells so bad that he made the gym smelled awful... hauhuahuhaua.... poor Gletwin.

I told him that he should have said, "I KNOW!".
He said that he did, but he said it in a surrender way coz he just didn't care anymore.... He's used to the smell by then... hauhuahuhauha..

Gila aja... baru kali ini gue ketemu cewe bule bau gini.... ampyuuunnn dj.....

Introducing......

His first published comic book ever!
Shakespeare's Julius Caesar by Adam Sexton and Hyeondo Park.

Last weekend, he brought 2 of these mangas to Zack's graduation. **Congrats Zack!! FINALLY, you made it!!!! YAY!!**
At first, I didn't even realize that it's his comic book.
And then Jennifer came to the bedroom (we were chilling and messing up Jerry's place hehe) and said that it's his manga.
We were like, WOW Hyeondo! It's so awesome! You're the man! Please sign the book..... We need your signature.... huehuheuheue...
And apparently, he also wrote his bio himself (it's on the first page, I think).
He got teased the whole night because of it. ^___^

Anyway, here it is.. his first published book ever, out now on sale. Buy it online or at the stores. (Really, Hyeondo, you need to pay me for being your spokesperson..^^)

He's currently working on his 2nd book, Huckleberry Finn.

Hyeondo, don't forget my free-signed-comic-book, arite! ^___^V

Learning Korean

After being fed up for not understanding what they're saying on the movies and after countless times of having people talking in Korean to me for a while, I finally decided to take on Korean!!

Hauhahuahuha... it'll be interesting, I think.

I hope I don't mess up the language when talking.

You know, saying 1 thing in Japanese and another in Korean and the rest in English, oh maybe I'll slip in some French and Chinese also... heuhuehuheuhe....

Coz that's what I do right now...hihihihi..

Starting to say one thing but my mind could only say it in another language other than the one that I want to say. And the bad thing is sometimes I don't even remember that it's another language and I just say it and people (well my sis usually) will look at me weird, like, wth is she talking about?? heuhehuhe... ^____^

Well, I was only practicing anyway... people said practice makes perfect, right...? or in my case, not. >___< Beginilah kalo belajar macem2 bahasa tapi separo2 gak pernah sampe selese...heuhuehue...

Can't wait for the class to start (May 12th, in case you're wondering)....

I already know some words though and the first thing I learned were the cussing words)...heuhueheuhe..

Always, learn the curse words first!

My theory is if we know the curse words, even if we can't speak the language, we'll know if they are talking bad about us and we can say it back to them. ^___^V

맞다 ? -- is this even the right character of what I wanted to say?? Saa..

Interesting Blogs

The other day, I was watching CNN while finishing my puzzle. I made the ancient map, by the way.
There was this show where you could send interesting blogs (could be your or somebody else's) to them and they'll show them on the show.

2 blogs caught my eyes...

1. http://little-people.blogspot.com/
This blog is written by this guy in UK who placed "little people" (people figure that he made by clay) around the city (mostly London) and photographed them.
It's really, really neat. Check it out.

Hmm... I wonder.... should we go backpacking aroung UK and try finding these little people??

Oh and uh.. watch your step!!

This one is also cool!
Have you ever wondered or imagined that things around us sometimes make a face?
Well, I did but I surely never thought to take pictures. But this guy (is he a guy? don't remember who made the blog) did.
He (let's just assume it's a he) uploaded pictures with faces, hence the name of the blog. We could send our pictures too!
*picture is courtesy of http://facesinplaces.blogspot.com/

Actually, there was another blog that got my attention, but couldn't seem to recall the name of the blog. If I remember it one day (hopefully, but you know, you could always google it yourself, I'm just too lazy to search for it...), I'll come back and post it here.
The blog was about "failed" pictures that you took.
Remember all those blurry-dang-it-pictures that you took?
Well, don't delete them just yet..... You could send them to this blog and they'll show the pictures on the blog. (Don't I sound like an anchorwoman? huheuheuheuhuhe)

Hmm.. I never catch that show again on CNN.
Don't remember what time or what day that I caught the show.
Anybody know? please let me know.

Silent Library

Thanks to Gletwin who ruined my work day. Spent a few hours watching these videos at work...huehuhehuehe....

I only put 1 video here, but you could search it under "silent library" or "Japanese game shows".
Oh, the human tetris was funny too. Just search it under "human tetris" on youtube.

I was laughing (without sounds, of course =p) while watching one of the videos and then my boss went pass by me and actually looked at me.
I turned my head down and started to cough.... huehuehuhuee....
Caught me off guard there... ^____^

Agustinus Wibowo

Meet Agustinus Wibowo.

Got his website, http://www.avgustin.net/home.php from Jalansutra mailing list that I've joined for some time now.

He's an Indonesian who's been backpacking throughout Central Asia since 2005.
He was a student in Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
He first started his backpacking journey by accompanying his friend to Mongol.
After that first trip, he simply couldn't resist to go on another journey.
That lead him to India, Afghanistan, Iran, and some other countries that I have not even heard of.. hehe..

For more detail, please check his journal out.
Also, his journal will be published regularly (I think) in kompas under travel - petualang.
Some of his works are also published in some magazines (China National Geographic for one).
And he's about my age!!! *Makes me wonder what I have achieved in my young age ^^*

I've been reading his journal since the beginning of his journey at work...hehehhee.. I couldn't stop reading it. ^____^
I haven't finished reading it. There're just so many of them and before I knew it, it was time to go home huehuehuhee.. -- FYI, I did work, I wasn't just browsing on the internet.. =p

It just amazed me.
I can't imagine if I have to go through all that he has been going through all these years.

And here I was planning to go backpacking around Europe... >______>

Just simply could not compare.....*shaking my head*

Springtime

Spring is definitely here.....

Even if it snowed monday and might be snowing again tomorrow....

Snow in March.... Amazing!!
